One app, all basic digital skills

Febelfin, in collaboration with NewFutureLab, is proud to announce the launch of the Digihandig/Digifacile app. This innovative app helps people navigate the world of online banking, online purchases, QR-codes and much more, more easily and securely. With this app, Febelfin underlines its commitment to greater digital and financial inclusion.

A comprehensive app for digital growth

As a banking sector we want to give everyone the opportunity to practise mobile banking via a secure and accessible app, Digihandig/Digifacile. But it's much more than just a practice app for mobile banking. It is a broad learning platform that focuses on strengthening digital skills for anyone who currently struggles with digital technology – from senior citizens to young people, newcomers or non-native speakers, and anyone who wants to practise their digital skills. The app offers modules on mobile banking, secure online shopping, adjusting phone settings, storage and file sharing, connecting online, emailing, planning routes and using QR codes.

Our contribution and collaboration

Digihandig/Digifacile is the result of intensive collaboration between Febelfin and NewFutureLab in consultation with a broad network of Flemish and French-speaking partners active in the field of digital inclusion (SAAMO, ARhus, Mediawijs, CPAS Charleroi, etc.).

The app originally existed in the Netherlands, but thanks to the support of Febelfin, we can now offer a fully Dutch and French version. This version has not only been translated, but also fully adapted to the Belgian context, making it perfectly suited to the needs of our users.

‘Digital inclusion is not a luxury, but a necessity. With initiatives such as Digihandig/Digifacile, as a financial sector we show that we take our social role seriously. By guiding people through the digital world in an accessible way and giving them the opportunity to practise digital banking in a safe way, we are helping to build a society in which no one is left behind.’ – Karel Baert, CEO Febelfin

'Digihandig/Digifacile gives people new digital skills, but above all more self-confidence. In a society where more and more services are provided online, digital barriers should not be a reason for anyone to miss out on opportunities. That is why it is so valuable that this app takes everyone along in an accessible, clear and safe way. With Digihandig/Digifacile, we are taking an important step towards a Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels where everyone, regardless of age, background or language, can participate fully in the digital world.' – Rob Beenders, Minister for Consumer Protection, Social Fraud Prevention, Equal Opportunities and Persons with Disabilities

Tested by users

Before its launch, the app was widely tested by a diverse test panel, set up in collaboration with SAAMO and ARhus. Their experiences and suggestions were essential: they provided valuable feedback on accessibility, comprehensibility and ease of use. We used this feedback to ensure that the end product really offers added value for the user. Inclusion and accessibility were central to the development process. Thanks to their commitment and expertise, the app is user-friendly, accessible and tailored to the needs of a wide audience.

Additional coaching options for supervisors

In addition to the practice modules, the app also offers additional coaching options for supervisors. This enables supervisors and teachers to provide even better support to beginners in strengthening their digital skills.

Supported by numerous partners in the field

‘I've always been a fan, but the translation from the Dutch to the Belgian context is a huge added value. Digihandig makes learning about digital topics fun! What's more, the app is super accessible: no complicated login methods, short and clear explanations, clearly structured lessons, different languages, etc. Highly recommended!’ – Sandra Vanneste, digital inclusion coordinator at ARhus Roeselare

Sustainable and expandable platform

Digihandig/Digifacile has been built with the future in mind. We aim to make the platform sustainable by adding new exercise series over time. New partners are welcome to join: the possibilities are endless. This will allow the app to grow into a broad platform where all kinds of digital skills can be practised, tailored to the needs of different target groups.

Everything about the app in one place

All information about the app, the exercise modules, frequently asked questions and download links can be found on the website www.digihandig.be / www.digifacile.be. Here, users, supervisors and organisations can find support, inspiration and practical help. The app and website are available in Dutch and French.

Together, we can make a difference digitally.
