Karel Van Eetvelt, CEO Febelfin, has announced his intention to resign as CEO on March 31, to take on a new challenge as CEO of RSC Anderlecht from April 1, 2020. The Board of Directors of Febelfin has accepted the resignation. They wish to thank Karel for the 2.5 years of fruitful and intense cooperation and wish him every success with his new challenge.
Johan Thijs, Chairman of Febelfin clarifies: “Febelfin has undergone an important transformation over the past 2.5 years. The sector has started to focus more on the added value it creates for society. We are grateful to Karel for the work done and the result achieved. Febelfin will continue on this path in the future as well. After all, the sector faces major challenges: providing an appropriate response to rapidly changing consumer needs, while at the same time finding a good balance between a strong and clear regulatory framework and sufficient room for the members themselves to transform into contemporary, more digital service providers. As a federation, we must pay attention to all these aspects and strive for a more workable, efficient environment for our members. Karel's successor / star will further realize and propagate that vision and the strategy of the federation.”
Karel Van Eetvelt, CEO Febelfin adds: “I am very grateful to Febelfin, its members, its chairman and especially its employees for the cooperation over the past 2.5 years. They have given me the opportunity and the confidence not only to get to know a very complex sector, but also to be able to work in an atmosphere of collegiality and ambition on challenging projects that should lead to increasing public confidence in the financial sector. I wish Febelfin and its members every success in the coming years”.
