Face masks are mandatory from Saturday 11 July in all shops, cinemas, party halls, museums and libraries in Belgium. The government has decided that. Banks also belong to this category. From now on, customers who come to their bank branch must also wear a mouth mask.

The obligation to wear a face mask applies to all customers and bank employees who are in the public space of a bank branch, such as the self-banking area.

The other measures to contain the corona virus also continue to apply. Social distancing (respecting a distance of 1.5 m) remains important, as does good hand hygiene.

Just a reminder: some banks only allow customers to make an appointment, while others can do without. A golden piece of advice for anyone who wants to visit his or her bank: first check with your bank (on the website or by telephone) how this can best be done.

One thing is certain: digital banking remains possible at any time. In addition, the banks are available by telephone and via chat for questions from their customers.
