Yesterday, Minister of Finance Alexander De Croo, together with Febelfin and the National Bank of Belgium, announced a set of measures to support the Belgian economy during the coronavirus crisis. Both individuals and businesses can rely on these measures if they are at risk of financial problems due to the crisis.

These measures are currently being formalized in a Ministerial Decree and will take effect from Friday, March 27. Banks are actively working on the practical implications of this decree. They are making every effort to have their systems adjusted to it by March 27 and to effectively implement the announced measures in practice.

Those facing financial difficulties due to the crisis are invited to contact their banker by phone, chat, or digitally through the app. Together, a solution will be sought. The bank employee will do everything possible to assist their customer appropriately and as quickly as possible.
