Furthermore, the only correct phone number to contact Card Stop is 078 170 170.

Tips to protect yourself

How to guard yourself against this type of fraud?

  • Febelfin will never send you such messages. Do not respond to the messages under any circumstances!
  • Never disclose your PIN code or other banking codes over the phone, or via a link in an SMS, email, or message on social media.
  • Never transfer money to another bank account if someone requests you to do so. Card Stop or your bank will never ask you to do such thing.
  • Don't get into it when someone contacts you and asks you to use your card reader or itsme.
  • Never allow a supposed bank employee or Card Stop representative to take control of your computer.
  • When in doubt, it's better to stop. In other words, if you've received a strange message and you're not sure how to react, prioritize safety and inquire to verify if the request is legitimate.
