As the new school year begins, Febelfin is fully committed to financial education with renewed focus on Klasse Bank / Banque en classe. This platform brings financial literacy to the classroom through guest lectures and tailored teaching materials for young people. The goal? To empower students in managing money, helping them make informed and safe choices in an increasingly complex financial world.
What if students learned at school how to bank safely, make smart financial decisions, and recognise financial pitfalls? With Klasse Bank, Febelfin offers a powerful answer. The platform makes financial education accessible, relevant and interactive—designed specifically for secondary education.
Launched in March 2025, Klasse Bank has grown into a dynamic platform that supports schools and teachers in their educational mission. Teachers can easily request a guest lecture from a volunteer in the financial sector. These volunteers bring real-world experience, relatable examples and an interactive quiz into the classroom. In addition, Klasse Bank offers ready-to-use teaching materials that educators can use independently. All content is aligned with curriculum goals and available in Dutch and French.
A platform that connects
The numbers speak for themselves:
555 volunteers from the financial sector are ready to give guest lectures.
106 matches have already been made between schools and guest speakers.
44 quizzes have been played, with more planned.
107 schools have registered.
📊 What do students learn?
Quiz results show that students:
Understand the role of banks in society;
Score low on financial skills such as calculating interest and sending payment requests. They recognise situations but struggle with calculations and figures;
Are partially familiar with terms like “buy now, pay later” and money mules, but lack full understanding;
Only 60% respond positively to statements like “I won’t fall for money mule scams”, so young people do know that it is punishable, but they are less convinced of their own resilience.
These insights confirm the need for targeted education—something Klasse Bank actively addresses.
🧑🏫 New teaching materials for educators
Febelfin has invested in workshops that teachers can use independently. Each package includes:
Clear explanations, realistic case studies, interactive exercises and a quiz;
Time estimates and links to curriculum goals;
Topics: consumer credit, saving & investing, online fraud, money mules, and (soon) mortgage loans;
Available in Dutch and French.
The workshops are designed to fully support teachers: no research required, just ready-to-use materials that connect with students’ everyday lives. All workshops are available on the Klasse Bank website (only in Dutch/French).
“Financial education is more important than ever. Young people face money matters daily—from online payment requests to misleading offers. With Klasse Bank, we aim not only to inform them but also to strengthen their resilience. By bringing teachers and bank professionals together in the classroom, we’re building a generation that handles money consciously and responsibly.”
🌱 Sustainable commitment
Febelfin aims to make Klasse Bank / Banque en classe a sustainable platform that contributes structurally to financial literacy. Educational tools will continue to expand, and in 2026, Assuralia will join the platform with insurance-related content.
